How can I register a player?

How much does it cost?

Fees of $325 incl gst are to be paid prior to the first game. This includes all court and games fees, WBA Junior Player Affiliation Fee, insurance and Cobras Player Fees.

Each year, players will also be required to pay annual fees of $41.75 (Basketball WA Affiliation Membership) and $5.61 (Basketball Australia Game Development Levy). These fees will be due the first time a player registers within a calendar year. 

If fees are not paid, the player will not be covered by insurance, which is a necessity in the event of an injury. 

NOTE: These fee amounts may be changed at any time


Where are the games played?

The Northside Cobras compete at the following locations:

HBF Arena Joondalup, Craigie Leisure Centre, Irene McCormack College, Mater Dei College & Peter Moyes School


Where is training held?

Dependent on your team allocated location, training could be held at the following:

HBF Arena Joondalup, Gumblossom Community Centre Quinn’s Rocks, Phil Renkin Recreation Centre Two Rocks, Butler College Butler, Ocean Reef Senior High School Ocean Reef, Mindarie College Mindarie, Seventh-Day Adventist Church Clarkson 


What is the Basketball WA Affiliation Membership Fee?  

Every player competing in any Basketball WA affiliated competition must have a current Basketball WA membership. Permanent players must have a 365 day membership ($41.75, payable annually).

If you play at another affiliated association and have an active membership, you will not be required to pay fee this again.

What is the Basketball Australia Game Development Levy?

The Basketball Australia Game Development Levy is a fee ($5.61, payable annually) implemented by Basketball Australia for individuals playing basketball in competitions and leagues governed by Basketball Australia and its affiliated state or local associations, including local leagues.

The levy will be collected by Basketball Australia in collaboration with the States and Territory partners, and will be directed towards a range of key initiatives to ensure the sustainability and growth of the sport.

What uniform is required?

The Team Manager will hand out the team’s playing singlets to the prior to the first game.  

Players are also required to wear a pair of plain black basketball shorts (with no pockets, stripes or logos) and a pair of trainers or basketball shoes to complete the team uniform requirements. You can purchase Cobras branded playing sports through our merchandise shop.  

Players are not required to wear their team uniform to training.
